S/he is responsible for the leadership and management of the institution’s HR function and will contribute to UCT’s mission as a member of the executive team, influencing and advising senior management to adopt and apply best practices.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;As a member of the university’s leadership team, the Executive Director: Human Resources will provide strategic direction to the institution for its Human Resources requirements through the development and implementation of an institution-wide human capital management strategy.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Experience and Qualifications&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Given the complexity of the &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;UCT&lt;/span&gt; environment, we require the Executive Director: HR, to:&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;•&#9;be an experienced HR professional with strong leadership and management skills suitable to a transforming environment;&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;have a relevant tertiary degree, preferably at Master’s level, at least 5 years’ relevant experience in Human Resources as well as appropriate senior management experience in a large organisation. &lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;be thoroughly familiar with the fundamentals of the whole range of HR functions including recruitment and selection, employment equity, human resource development, performance management, organisational design, employee relations, bargaining and negotiations and industrial relations, people planning, remuneration and benefits and human resource administration. ;&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;be able to participate and thrive in a leadership environment which can present multiple demands at any time.
