Full-Time Digital Business Development Executive

Job Description

1. Overview of position
The Business Development Executive will report to the CEO and Head of Marketing, and be responsible for sourcing new business, conducting cold-calling and working with the marketing team to ensure all enquiries and leads are followed up efficiently. The successful candidate will have a proven and successful sales record and a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the online media sector, as well as an established network. This candidate needs to be passionate about digital media and technology, needs to be a true ‘go-getter’, with an ability to work independently, self-motivated, and driven to succeed.

2. Duties and Responsibilities
 Conduct research to identify new target segments and opportunities
 Convert leads into sales and continuously servicing and up-selling clients
 Maintaining a pipeline of new and current clients by conducting cold-calling, setting up meetings and promoting the company’s offering
 Actively selling the company’s product offering to potential clients
 Meeting and exceeding targets
 Ensuring that client needs and requirements are understood, interpreted and communicated accurately and that their expectations are managed at all times
 Compiling sales proposals for clients
 Compiling regular reports on sales figures, pipeline and conversion rates
 Maintaining client relationships
 Attend industry events and continuously increase contact network
 Continuously stay up to date with market trends

Requirements for the role:
 Matric
 Tertiary qualification (in media sector an advantage)
 Previous experience in a Business Development role (Minimum 3 years in digital media sector)
 Must have own car
 Previous experience of working with search and affiliate marketing a definite advantage
 Proven sales track record in achieving set targets
 Knowledge of technology, digital media, online advertising and marketing principles
 Proficiency in computer software programs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
 The ability to create and maintain relationships with customers
 Attention to detail, good organisational skills
 Interpersonal skills, ability to network, confident and outgoing
 Co-operative, positive can-do attitude
 Time management skills
 Good telephone manner
