A position has become available for an individual, who meets the following requirements to be part of the Windows Server Systems team within the Infrastructure department in Foschinidata.
Your key performance areas will be:
Daily server system maintenance and monitoring.
Supporting applications on Windows servers and providing 3rd level support
Windows server administration, support and disaster recovery procedures.
Ensuring that security standards are adhered to
Testing and evaluating new server software products and server-related hardware.
Providing technical assistance in projects
Documenting and updating server administration, disaster recovery and security procedures.
To qualify for this position it is preferable to have:
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer [Windows Server 2003] or higher
Proven experience in the following:
Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
Network protocols (TCP/IP)
Windows Server Systems (i.e. Exchange, Active Directory, Terminal Services, MOM, IIS)
Technical project management
ITIL or similar service management principles
The ability to plan, organise and prioritise activities
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with IBM and/or HP server hardware platforms would be an advantage.
VMWARE knowledge would be an advantage.
You will also need:
A strong service orientation
Professionalism
Excellent listening, questioning and documenting skills
To be able to pay close attention to detail
To be able to work under pressure
To be able to work effectively in a team
To be deadline and target driven
To be reliable and able to work flexible hours
Good interpersonal skills
Preference will be given , but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act
