KEY PURPOSE
The incumbent of this position is responsible for establishing a business IM capability leveraging Information as a global strategic asset across all operations, functions and activities in SAB. He/she will be accountable for the delivery of SAB business strategy by developing and implementing the IM strategy and roadmap starting with Project Triumph and ensuring alignment in IM approaches in other transformation projects. Manage and direct all IM governance and integration aspects across the business, ensuring alignment with global policies, procedures and standards. Coordinate and align IM activities and initiatives across all functions and processes including the management of the IS interface.

•Ensure that IM functional forums in SAB are operational.
•Resolve cross functional IM issues and interdependencies
•Drive information ownership in the business
•Ensure that SAB data standardisation is maintained
•Understand and implement new SAB standardization requirements
•Drive SAB authorisation of changes to SABly standardised data structures and definitions
•Define and own SAB logical data model
•Understand how this translates into the IS owned physical data model
•Understand the implication of the data model on business requirements Manage IS interface in all IM initiatives
•Understand current IT platforms and tools
•Ensure that formalised metadata processes are implemented
•Define and own SAB logical data dictionary
•Ensure that formalised master data processes are implemented
•Leverage scale across SAB
•Ensure that Master data management processes operate smoothly
•Develop appropriate data quality assurance and management processes
•Lead data quality processes and monitor progress in SAB
•Highlight the importance and ensure awareness of data quality focus and in the agenda of senior leaders
•Oversee the information requirements delivery cycle
•Facilitate and assist the prioritisation within all functions
•Focus on and deliver cross functional alignment of information requirements
•Leverage the Information asset across SAB
•Develop and deliver SAB reporting strategy appropriate for all functions
•Drive SAB alignment of information initiatives across the functions and IS
•Ensure SAB cross functional alignment regarding global data requirements

•Own delivery of benefits identified in business cases
•Coordinate measurement and tracking of IM associated business benefits
•Identify and drive elimination of ‘report factories’ in all functions
•Identify the need for business analytics
•Lead the identification and development of communities of BI super users
•Oversee the articulation of BI and BO solution business requirements Establish buy in and acceptance for the roll out of IM solutions
•Define SAB capability requirements and lead the capability building

ROUTINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
•Manage the team.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

•B. Com Info Sys/ B. Sc Honours / MBA or similar degree
•5+ years executive management experience
•15+ years management experience (including financial planning)
•Business acumen and ability to command respect from directors
•Deep appropriate business / industry experience
•Cross functional commercial understanding and appreciation – identification and delivery of business benefits through IM initiatives
•Solid knowledge of Information management with reporting requirement expertise in a FMCG company environment
•Experience in developing IM capability
•Knowledge of BI and MDM tools
